NHMA Monthly Meeting Minutes

December 2004

The December 2004 meeting Of the NHMA was convened on December 21, at 10:05 am, President Tim Mills presiding.  Four members were in attendance and two guests BMC Bo Hause, Officer in Charge Aids to Navigation Team Bristol, RI and his Executive Petty Officer BM1 Rob Lehman.  There was no Secretary’s report given.  The Treasurer report will be established and issued at the Jan 2005 meeting.

Old Business

By-Laws – A copy proposed by-laws were issued to members of the Executive board for review and comment. It was agreed that members would review and return comment at/by the January 2005 monthly meeting.

New Business

Secretaries Report – Motion made and passed to purchase a small tape recorder to assist in the documentation of monthly meetings (Sec. Report). Kevin Blount to purchase after the holiday’s and submit for reimbursement.

Bank Account -. A bank account will be established prior to the Jan 2005 meeting as DBA NHMA. Matt Calouro for action.
 

Web Site – First page is complete and navigation section is done. Annual renewal for web addresses is coming up. Approx cost $100 - $150. Matt Calouro for action

Sale of advertisements to promote NHMA was discussed. Each member was
 encouraged to bring back 10 companies with contacts. Joe Cabral recommended
 soliciting the Bristol Boat Show.

Membership Cards – Price for producing membership cads is approximately $2.30 each.  Matt Calouro to research further

NHMA Stationary – Motion was made and seconded for the purchase of minimum order of official stationary and envelopes. Matt Calouro for action.

NHMA Logo - Matt Calouro Asked if the membership was satisfied with the current NHMA logo, if not did anyone have any recommendations. All present agreed to stay with the logo in place.

NHMA Address and Phone Number – For the first year the use of Matt Calouro’s home address will be used. The phone number for both voice and fax is (401) 396-9304. Discussion of eventually requesting an 800 number so that members from around the country could phone in to the meetings was brought up and will be considered as membership grows and financial stability is met.

BM1 Lehman – NHMA web site will establish great point for disseminating marine and homeland security related information. NDF

BMC Hause – Recommended advertising the NHMA web site, possibly posting on Coast Guard related web sites.  A recommendation for each member to bring back 10 web sites to request posting of the NHMA.

Matt Calouro – The Rhode Island Harbormasters Association Annual Meeting and Training Seminar will be held at Rodger Williams University on March 31 and April 1, 2005.
